An important win over Timor-Leste on Wednesday, Myanmar still hopes for the semi-final.

Myanmar national team beat Timor 2-0 on December 8 at the ongoing AFF Suzuki Cup 2020 in Singapore.

The match was Myanmar’s second in Group A in the Suzuki Cup 2020. The striker Than Paing and Captain Mg Mg Lwin scored goals for the Asian Lions.

Myanmar team lined up with goalkeeper Myo Min Latt, defender David Htan, Win Moe Kyaw, Hein Phyo Win, Suan Lam Mang, midfielders Hlaing Bo Bo, Lwin Moe Aung, Mg Mg Lwin, Hein Htet Aung, Myat Kaung Khant, and striker Than Paing.

In the second half, Myanmar made four substitutes Win Naing Tun for Than Paing, Htet Phyo Wai for Myat Kaung Khant, Maung Maung Win for Hlaing Bo Bo, Yan Naing Oo for Win Moe Kyaw.

Myanmar players had more ball possession and created chances but they lack a bit of accuracy. Timor-Leste played defensive most of the time.

After finishing two group matches, Myanmar got three points. Myanmar lost to Singapore 3-0 in its opening match.

To qualify for the semi-finals, Myanmar will have to beat Thailand in their third group match on December 10.
